By The Sea is a comfortable, well-equipped semi-detached holiday home just a minute’s walk from Aberavon Beach in Swansea Bay.
Aberavon Beach is one of South Wales’ best kept secrets, with three miles of blue flag beach and two miles of level promenade which incorporates a section of the South Wales coast path. The Celtic Trail, which is part of the National Cycle network, also runs along the promenade and is one of its most leisurely and enjoyable sections offering fantastic views across the bay to Mumbles on the Gower.
The beach offers something for everyone, with open, grassy areas, dunes, adventure golf, free splash pool, cafes, takeaways, skateboard park and an excellent children’s playground. Aberavon beach is also a popular surfing hotspot, and a surf school operates during the summer holidays. Fishing from the beach is also a popular pastime. There is also a multiplex cinema and a leisure centre nearby. There is ample parking, which is either inexpensive or free.
Aberavon is well-placed from which to explore the vibrant city life of Swansea, picturesque Mumbles, with its promenade, pier, castle and lighthouse, and on to the Gower Peninsula, Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To the north you’ll find the beautiful and historic waterfall country of the Vale of Neath, and beyond – the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Visit Wales has produced a short video featuring Aberavon seafront – view it here: http://www.visitnpt.co.uk/aberavon
We are also able to offer a three-bedroom, self-catering holiday cottage situated in the Waterfall Country of the Vale of Neath. The cottage is adjacent to the Neath Canal, and offers an idea base to explore the Brecon Beacons, mountain and forest trails, Swansea and the Gower. Find out more at Neathvale Cottage Holidays.
